![]() ![]() visual upgrade(not really a fan of realistic looking characters in tr series, but realistic looking environments are always welcome. better cinematic(some scenes had too many odd cuts, odd angles and continuity errors but that’s just my personal opinion) Or allow the player to allocate the upgrade via skilltree) It would be nice to have a better visual indication of where the upgrade goes to whether it is lower body or upper body. better upgrade mechanics(character upgrade system wasn’t clearly explain in the game. including all unused features/cut contents I don’t mind ‘remake’ as in completing AoD game like it was designed and planned by, Unpopular opinion…(nostalgia aside) I actually like tank controls because of the presence of weight :/ my two cents classic tomb raider trreboot tr reboot horrendous animation believability and realism animation perspective stylized vs realistic the importance of weight principles of animation tomb raider But then again it’s just a matter of preferences. Any movements or physics would be up to the artist to go crazy with their creativity but of course ‘weight‘ has to be present no matter the artstyle. Hence why I prefer stylized graphics over realistic ones. Not in the sense of graphics wise, but the believability which would fall under the uncanny valley. You can make something look realistic all you want but if you don’t get the movements and weight right, it’s ugly. One of the reason why I hardly play 3rd person games is because I’m too fussy about character animation. (Bottom) The character’s body is being pulled by an entity before jumping.(Squash & Stretch absent), (Weird jump arc) (Top) The character has to push it’s body to jump.(Squash & Stretch present) For instance: weight and believable trajectory. Games nowadays prefer quick response over believable/realistic movements. I was charmed by the realistic trajectory of the jumping animation(Such simple child I was back then). Granted the classic Tomb Raider’s graphics is outdated but the believable weight and movements are something I adore about the Core era TR series. Believability does not necessarily needs to be realistic. Reboot girl weigh as much as a single paper clip. There’s another thing that bothers me about the reboot which is the technical part of the game but this is pretty much an opinion I had on 3rd person games in general. To go into safe mode my contoller could not interact with the console inĪttribution-ShareAlike version 3.I can’t deny I’ve been bashing the reboot series a lot due it’s poorly written character(s) and my hatred towards the reboot girl.
